We love Nigeria because it is an affordable country to live. If you think that Nigeria is expensive try Paris or even London, and then you will understand that there is no home like Nigeria. That notwithstanding, there are still places in Nigeria that are expensive when you compare them with the other cities in the country. A lot of Nigerians who are living in different cities that are not mentioned here are often wary when it comes to relocating to the following cities.

Lagos

The megacity of Lagos is not cheap. You can survive in Lagos with less than NGN 2,000 for some days in some parts of the cities but that may not be a complete taxi charter fare in another part of the city. Those who are born and bred in Lagos may not know that Lagos is expensive until they come to live in places like Aba, Ibadan or Abeokuta where things are very affordable.

*Owerri *

Once, Owerri was not as expensive as it is today. Since the city transformed to become a hub for tourists and the second home of most students in Nigeria with its many schools, it has become quite expensive. Accommodation and hotel is not cheap compared to its sister town, Aba. The transformation that is taking place here is massive and fast, leaving visitors to get lost in its neatness and beauty.

Abuja

This is the mother of them all when it comes to expensive cities to live in Nigeria. Indeed, every capital in the world is not cheap and Abuja is not sparing us with its expensiveness. You can live at the outskirt of the town to enjoy a relative cheapness of some things that things are still expensive there. Come inside the town and spend money if you have some to spread around.

Enugu

The hilly city, Enugu is calm and expensive. It is one of the most developed cities in the country, highly respected and beautifully decorated to make you feel at home. Yet, things are not cheap here but not as expensive as what we get from the capital, Abuja. It is one of the best places you can spend your vacation.

Calabar

Why wouldn’t Calabar be expensive? It has a lot of things that we all want to be a part of; the carnival, the Tinapa resort, the close by Obudu Mountain Resort, and many others. Things are not cheap if you think of coming here for any event.

*Port Harcourt *

The Silicon Valley of Nigeria is beautiful in all ways aside the traffic gridlock that is notorious in the city. Port Harcourt is one of the most expensive places you can ever find yourself in Nigeria. This does not mean that you would be stranded if you are low income earner in this city. There is a place for everyone.
